Unruly Tongue

Unruly tongue

Always ready

To hurt someone

Unruly tongue

Careless and dumb

Deadly with devilish venom

Striking suddenly to numb

Subtle and belittling it comes

To steal your life and fun

Throw you into a tailspin

An emotional demise within

The unruly tongue tantalizes

Seeks to get and self-actualizes

Others it speedily despises

As it beguiles and disguises

Itself in tasty tender verbiage

Heartless beneath as garbage

Decaying and corrupting

Infesting and polluting

Portraying and purporting

Purity distorting and diluting

The unruly tongue likes refuting

Any confrontation that is hurting

Seeking to harness and rule

Unruly tongues think they're cool

Yet their words stink like a stool

Though they perch on a pedestal

Proud as a peacock impenetrable

Identify their errors, they're unable

Mentally and emotionally unstable

Hurt people consistently hurt people

Within they're bruised and feeble

Living in a dreadful depth of denial

By the dearth of honesty they spiral

Their internal infection worse than viral

Enslaved to their insecurity and instability

They quickly place the focus outwardly

Dissecting, dismantling, and dominating others

It doesn't matter if they're sisters and brothers

If the unruly tongue had its own druthers

It would continue to be foul and smother

Its own beloved father and mother

Because deep within there is poison

Rage and bitterness like a sour lemon

They need a new outlook and horizon

Their perspective and perception

Needs an alteration and transformation

Their restless soul needs to be whole

Improving their manners is the goal

In a school of etiquette they must enroll.

Socially-Responsible PR: Have a Heart

One of the noblest PR strategies for companies is the creation of a partnership with a non-profit organization. It is not a new strategy -- many large corporations align themselves with the mission of a non-profit. Some even go so far as to incorporate a social goal in their mission statement; they are called socially-responsible organizations.

What is different today is that this strategy is being adopted by small companies as well, including one- and two-person shops. It doesn't have to cost a lot -- or anything in some cases -- and the rewards are multiple. In addition to the obvious support provided to a worthy cause, employees feel good about their employer's benevolence and often participate. The media is more likely to cover an event or effort that benefits the community, and consumers are more likely to patronize a business that cares about the community.

When you think about it, most people support at least one non-profit charity through their donations and/or volunteer hours. The idea of helping a charity that does good work in an area related to your business is a natural extension of that thought.

Are you a home builder? Support the local charity that subsidizes low-cost housing. A caterer? Support the local food bank. A clothing retailer? Help cloth the homeless. A medical practitioner? Organize a consortium of practitioners that offers indigent health care.

Sometimes the cause is so compelling that there does not need to be a relationship with the company's business to realize a benefit. Businesses as varied as building supply companies and car dealers have organized rapid response teams to support the local efforts of the Red Cross in natural disasters and other emergencies. When times are tough, people remember who helped them or their neighbors and they tell others in the community.

Have a heart. There's no joy quite like that of helping others. And when you help others through your business, not only will it help your business, it is simply the right thing to do.

An Air Conditioner Repair Specialist Helps to Turn Down the Temperature

In certain places, the summer time heat can be unbearable. It can even get so bad in some areas that city officials start to encourage people to stay inside. The only time they should be out is if they absolutely have to be. So, this means no leisurely walks in the neighborhood, no playing outside with their kids and no going out to work on the garden. Although this is not a good circumstance, the great thing is that there is at least one place that people can go to get away from the unbearable heat. That is inside the comfort of their homes.

A house with a properly functioning cooling system will make someone forget that there ever was a thing called heat. On the other hand, if the system is not working correctly, being outside may not sound like such a bad idea. Whenever, someone finds themselves in this type of circumstance, the best thing they can do is hire an air conditioner repair specialist. These professionals are able to come out and fix the unit and have it back up and running in no time. Knowing this, some people still refuse to get help. Their main reason is because they don't want to spend the money for the services.

Saving the money and deciding not to hire an air conditioner repair specialist may sound like a good idea at first. However, once the heat starts to really set in, things begin to change. That is because people usually find that when their unit is broken, it is sometimes hotter inside than it is outside. This may sound strange, but it's absolutely true. That's because the house begins acting as a huge oven. Because it's basically a large enclosed space, there is nowhere for the heat to escape. Someone may be able to open the windows and doors, but this is not a good idea either. Once they open everything up, they are giving the heat from outside a chance to come in. So, now the different levels of heat are just intermingling with one another. All of this is happening while no cool air is coming in.

Being in this type of situation can be extremely uncomfortable. For many people, they are only able to go to sleep when it's cold. So, they would never get any rest in a house with no cooling system.

So, getting help from an air conditioner repair specialist is the most viable option for anyone who has a cooling system that is no longer functioning properly. They may be able to survive during the cooler seasons. However, when summer finally rolls around, the heat will most likely be unbearable.

Gangland Chicago - The Historical Allure Of The 1920s

Chicago's gangster history has fascinated world historians and visitors to the city in equal measure since the 1920s. The trauma of gangland Chicago during the legendary Prohibition decade has been immortalised in a variety of Hollywood movies - thrillingly represented in Brian de Palma's 'The Untouchables' and uproariously spoofed in Billy Wilder's 'Some Like It Hot'. But what is it about this decade in Chicago's history that never fails to capture the national imagination?

For many, the figure of gang lord Al Capone is a large part of the allure. During the prohibition years of the 1920s, when the consumption of alcohol was banned in the United States, Capone effectively ran Chicago as his own town and went on to become the most notorious American criminal of the twentieth century. Over the course of the decade, Capone ran his empire from the Lexington Hotel at 22nd and Michigan Avenues in Chicago and profited from the extensive bootlegging racket that permeated the city. The illicit trade in alcohol, and the huge number of speakeasies (establishments used for the covert selling and drinking of alcohol) that sprang up around the city, played an enormous part in the success of Al Capone's nefarious gangs.

What's more, the iconic St Valentine's Day Massacre in 1929 - now seen as one of Chicago's most defining moments of the 1920s - has also ingrained itself in the American psyche. This famous incident in Chicago's history saw the shooting of seven people - six of which were gangsters - in the climax of a hefty rivalry between the city's two main gangs: Al Capone's South Side gang and Bugs Moran's North Side cronies.

Ultimately, Al Capone's arrest in 1931 for tax evasion led to his downfall, and this is seen by many as an ironic - and somewhat deflating - end to this nefarious gang leader. Essentially, the all-pervasive element of Chicago's gang warfare during the prohibition years is what makes it so appealing to history buffs - the amazing fact that one man could have had such complete criminal control over one city, and yet be brought down by such a mundane offence.

Of course, the eventual repeal of the prohibition act in 1933 was seen by many as a signal that the first great domestic experiment of the twentieth century had failed; a factor that further pushed Al Capone and his bootlegging gangs into legendary status. Today, many visitors to Chicago are keen to survey the city's gangland past and discover where old speakeasies were located, and this is relatively easy to do. Simply find a hotel in Chicago to use as your base and explore the old site of the Lexington Hotel, along with Capone's range of infamous haunts. And while this may appear to be a somewhat macabre vacation theme, it's nonetheless one that will provide a thrill for anyone who finds a bit of gory American history entertaining.
